Every year, between late October and early November, Mexico fills with ofrendas, candles, and petals that guide the return of those who have passed. It’s a tradition so powerful that UNESCO inscribed it in 2008 as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Now imagine bringing that same emotion to the sky. A Day of the Dead show with drones turns the night into a luminous altar that all your guests can see at the same time. But what kind of show does your event need?

What makes a Day of the Dead drone show different?

It’s not just about lights in the air. Each formation tells part of the story: a smiling skull, a path of cempasúchil opening across the sky, a catrina waving to the audience. At AiON, creative directors and 3D animators design every figure with your narrative in mind, and before the event you receive a preview video to approve every scene.

And here comes the key question: if the show is custom made, how do you choose the right package?

Packages for your Day of the Dead show

The ideal package depends on three things: how many people will watch, how large the space is, and how much you want to tell. These are the most common options.

Intimate package: weddings, hotels, and themed dinners

Perfect for celebrations where the audience is close and every detail stands out. A few well-chosen formations, such as an altar, a sugar skull with the couple’s names, or the hotel logo surrounded by flowers, create a moment no one forgets. It’s the most direct way to surprise without complicating logistics.

Brand package: activations and corporate events

Does your company want to join in the tradition? This format integrates your logo or product into the Day of the Dead narrative. It works very well for launches, conventions, and early year-end parties, because it connects your brand identity with a celebration people feel is their own. It also creates content your attendees will want to share on social media.

Monumental package: festivals, cities, and large parades

When the audience numbers in the thousands, the sky has to rise to the occasion. This is where more drones, more complex formations, and transitions synchronized with music, cold pyrotechnics, and venue lighting come in. It’s the format that turns a local celebration into an event people talk about for weeks.
